This method requires an Epic account which has had MTGA added to it. I've managed to get MTGA running on macOS 11.1 without the Epic Game Launcher, using Legendary. I was doing a clean install of macOS anyway, and wanted to avoid having it on my system. I give you that I was wrong and there are indeed Epic-exclusive games (though from those I've seen only if you do not count consoles.It's great that there's now a Mac version of MTGA, but the Epic Game Launcher is annoying: full of ads, and fails to open about a third of the time.

I don't see why anybody would care about that, (since you can just go first-party), as long as Epic doesn't introduce something like SteamWorks (and especially MP and Workshop), which through functionality, social pressure (and large market share) would reduce the value of buying games outside of Epic ? Epic is the exclusive third-party PC for MTGA
